Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 515246), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in molecular and adipose tissue biology, energy metabolism and metabolic disease. They should have a strong track record in biomedical science research, extensive experience in animal study, and excellent communication skills. They should be organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask and work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.

The appointee will conduct high-impact research related to the roles of adipokines and mitochondrial proteins in metabolic disorders and the therapeutic strategies for combating obesity and its related diseases. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
