Senior Research Assistant in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 516083) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related disciplines, or a Master’s degree in the abovementioned disciplines with at least three years’ research experience in public health. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English, good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and attention to details. Experience in infectious diseases, serological or molecular analysis would be an advantage. Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modelling software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, C++) are highly preferred.
The appointee will assist in studies investigating the dynamics of population immunity to SARS-CoV-2 and controls of COVID-19. He/She will analyse statistical data and prepare publications and reports. Information about the School can be obtained at https://sph.hku.hk/.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
