Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) / Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Division of Health Economics, Policy and Management, School of Public Health (Ref.: 519934), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis for RAP, or on a two-year temporary basis for PDF, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in public health, health services research or other health-related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experiences. They should have a track record of academic research publications, strong quantitative background, and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Expertise in biostatistics/health economic outcomes research, proficiency in data analysis (e.g R programming), and experience in managing research projects would be highly desirable.
The appointees will participate in interdisciplinary multi-year research programmes to evaluate i) breast cancer screening programme, (ii) genetic risk tailored cancer screening, (iii) Hong Kong genome project, (iv) multi-component District-based Caregiver support service model. There may be opportunities to work on other interdisciplinary collaborative projects on the cost-effectiveness of a COVID-19 vaccine allergy safety programme and spill-over impact of COVID-19 disruptions on healthcare for non-communicable diseases. They will coordinate research projects, analyse data, prepare reports/publications, supervise junior research staff, and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
