Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer (several posts) in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 525974), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. 

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or other relevant disciplines, with demonstrated leadership and significant experience in the teaching of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry or related disciplines, for medical, nursing, pharmacy, and biomedical sciences degree programmes and preferably a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.  Applicants should be able demonstrate adoption of innovative approaches in teaching and learning, excellence in driving curricular reform, and collaborative abilities across disciplines. Engagement in pedagogical scholarship with international recognition would add further value to their application. Applicants should be inspiring to students, with clear strategies to enable building students’ confidence and capability, including critical thinking, analytical and communication skills, and ethical values.

 The appointee will be directly involved in the delivery and leadership of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and will be a senior mentor to teaching staff in the School and collaborating across our professoriate in the School.  For further information about the post, please contact Professor Julian Tanner at jatanner@hku.hk

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
