E-Learning Officer (at the rank of IT Officer) in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (Ref.: 526027)

Information Technology Services provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies. Information about ITS can be obtained at https://www.its.hku.hk/.

We are seeking high caliber IT talents to join us to provide quality IT Services for the e-Learning support Team.

The Role

  • Identify and address the training needs for staff and students on using Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Deliver effective help-desk service, especially in relation to e-Learning solutions, such as LMS, video streaming, lecture capture systems, etc.
  • Produce management reports on the LMS
  • Prepare self-learning materials, including user guides and video tutorials in using LMS and other eLearning tools

Qualifications and Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years’ work experience, preferably in the education sector
  • Familiarity with eLearning platforms, such as Moodle, Panopto, etc. and ability to use them effectively for online teaching and learning
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with faculties, colleagues and students
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in fast-paced environment
  • Good customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attentive to details
  • Certification in ITIL, PRINCE2 and relevant experience in project management are preferred

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
