Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants will work in the Jockey Club “Peace and Awareness” Mindfulness Culture in Schools Initiative (JC PandA) under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The project aims at studying and promoting mindfulness culture in Hong Kong schools. The appointee will be responsible for the smooth operation of the project with major tasks including:

  • organising training courses and public education events;
  • implementing research and programme evaluation;
  • collecting and analyzing data;
  • writing technical reports on research;
  • coordinating a team of research interns;
  • performing relevant administrative tasks; and
  • any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or above in Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese & Putonghua)
  • Proficiency in SPSS, MS Excel and Chinese typing
  • Experience in the implementation of community/education projects is preferred

 

What We Offer

The appointment will commence in September 2024 on a temporary term basis until August 2025.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.

Those with higher qualifications and more experience will be appointed as Research Assistant I (holding the functional title of Project Officer).
