Senior Executive Assistant/Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I/II) (2 posts) in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 526295) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); a strong sense of responsibility; and the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.  They should be attentive to details and self-motivated.  Proficiency in PC and application software (including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) would be essential.  Applicants with lower qualifications or less experience may be considered for the post of Clerk II.  Those with a Bachelor’s degree may be offered a functional title of Senior Executive Assistant/Executive Assistant. 

For Post A, the appointee will provide administrative support to undergraduate courses and/or taught postgraduate programmes, including processing applications, assisting in course arrangements, academic coordination, and interacting with prospective candidates, students and other stakeholders.

For Post B, the appointee will handle the procurement process and reimbursement claims for the Department, including order requisition, preparing RFQ and tender documents.

Appointees may also require to assist in general office administration, handle enquiries, undertake specific or general clerical tasks and perform other duties as assigned.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
