Technical Officer (holding the functional title of Embalmer) (several posts) in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 526741) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related laboratory science discipline, with at least 2 years’ solid work experience, preferably in mortuary work, embalming and handling of animal or human specimens. Knowledge in technology equipment and software such as augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) and audio visual is highly preferred. They should also be highly motivated, and able to work independently and as a team in a multi-disciplinary laboratory environment.
The appointee is expected to provide technical support to embalming services; undertake manual work; handle human cadavers; and perform other research-related duties as assigned. In-service training on the embalming techniques will be provided. Occasional working on weekends/public holidays may be required.
