Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Ref.: 527012) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

In view of the new expansion of the taught-master’s degree programmes in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, we are looking to expand the administrative team to support various stakeholders.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A good university degree;
  • at least 8 years’ relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferably in a higher education sector;
  • Previous experience in taught-master’s programme admissions, teaching and learning, committee services are desirable;
  • An exceptional command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal, skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently under immense pressure; self-motivated, attentive to details.

The Role

The appointee will assume a leadership role in supervising a team of junior executive and clerical staff, providing essential support to the administration of the Department.  He/she will carry out advanced administrative tasks across various domains, including and undertake the management of the taught-master’s degree programmes. He/she will work closely with local and overseas stakeholders and contribute to student admissions, committee services, event coordination, human resources, finance, teaching and learning, student enrichment initiatives and general office administration; take on new initiatives; and perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
