Senior Residential Operations Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) in the Campus Life Section of the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 527036)

We are currently looking for Senior Residential Operations Manager to join our team in providing administrative support and ensuring smooth operations in our student residences. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the vibrant residential community and make a positive impact on student life.

The Role

The appointee will:

  • Ensure the smooth functioning and efficiency of residences within a cluster;
  • Oversee accommodation services, ensuring the quality, efficiency, and satisfaction of residents;
  • Oversee and prioritize the maintenance of facilities, including premises, landscaping, and common areas;
  • Implement and monitor comprehensive safety and security measures to protect residents and property;
  • Manage and maintain financial accounts, budgets, and financial reporting for the cluster;
  • Provide committee support by facilitating meetings, managing records, and assisting with decision-making processes;
  • Collaborate with management and residents on important administrative and policy matters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives;
  • Coordinate and manage special events, such as high table dinners and ceremonies, ensuring they run smoothly and meet residents' expectations;
  • Supervise and support office staff and attendants, ensuring their productivity, professional growth, and adherence to policies and procedures;
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities assigned by senior management or as necessary to maintain the overall functioning and success of the cluster.

The Dean of Student Affairs holds the authority to deploy the appointee to various clusters of student residences based on operational needs during the appointment period.

 Qualifications and Qualities

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in a related role;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including proficiency in Putonghua;
  • Strong supervisory and management skills, with experience in coordinating and allocating resources;
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with residents, staff, and stakeholders;
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities;
  • A genuine interest in student welfare and development, with a strong sense of community engagement;
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively with minimal supervision;
  • Experience in office, hotel/hostel management, project or event management, and engaging young people would be advantageous;
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to adapt to changing situations and challenges.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
