Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Urban Planning and Design, to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in human geography, urban studies/planning or a related discipline. Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential for publication in leading academic journals (ideally with a proven track record). They should also have good command of qualitative research methods, academic writing abilities and English. Fluency in Cantonese and research experience in conservation (cultural and/or natural), urban planning and sustainable development will be an advantage.

The appointee will work with the Principal Investigator in conducting a research project on the role of conservation in sustainable urban development, with a focus on Hong Kong. Major duties include all aspects of the research process, in particular, on conducting interviews, literature review, qualitative analysis, manuscript preparation, and some knowledge exchange activities. He/she is expected to have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
