Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 527182), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

 

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, with at least 3 years’ teaching experience in tertiary institutions and a strong commitment to quality teaching.  Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Lecturer.  They should have a strong background in Chemistry, good interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Chinese; and be self-motivated, organized and a good team player.  Preference will be given to those with experience in scientific outreach and communication.

 

The appointee will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  He/She will be responsible for course administration, curriculum development, student advising, students’ capstone projects and any other tasks as assigned by the Department.

 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of the basic salary.
