Technical Officer/Senior Technical Assistant in the Faculty of Architecture (Ref.: 527210) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.)

Applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese (Level 2 from 2007), OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language and Chinese Language.  They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, experience in fabrication workshop or makerspace, experience in one or more technical skill in area of wood working, metal fabrication, 3D printing, CNC milling/routing, laser cutting, proficient use of one or more CAD software (i.e. Autocad/Fusion360/Rhino), and basic knowledge of general computer software (i.e. Word/Excel/Photoshop).  They should also be proactive, independent, possess positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility and integrity, and be able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.  Those with experience in machine maintenance and repair, knowledge in electrical/electronics, and experience in robots or cobots are preferred.

The appointee will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operation and maintenance in different areas of the Faculty fabrication laboratory, providing support to students, professors, and researchers in the use of laboratory for coursework and research, and ensuring the operations in laboratory are in compliance with safety guidelines.  He/She will also contact vendors for services and parts, and perform any other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  Applicants with less qualification and experience may be considered as Senior Technical Assistant.
