Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.:527232) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in statistics, biostatistics, computational biology, computer science, bioinformatics or related disciplines. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; and a strong sense of responsibility. They should be detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team. Knowledge of quantitative skills and mathematical/statistical modelling is essential. Experience in statistical analysis, time series analysis, machine learning, bioinformatics, and proficiency in statistical and computer software (e.g., R, Python, C++, MATLAB, BEAST) are highly preferred. Those with 3 years’ relevant experience or more may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant.

The appointee will assist in research related to infectious disease modeling, on respiratory viruses such as influenza and COVID-19, or arbovirus such as dengue or zika. He/She will conduct statistical analysis, modelling and simulations, literature review, and data cleaning; prepare publications and reports; and perform other duties as assigned.
