Research Assistant II in the Centre for Psycho-oncology Research & Teaching and the Division of Behavioural Sciences of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 528706) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in psychology, social sciences, sport science or related disciplines. They should have an excellent command of both spoken and written Chinese and English; good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills; a strong sense of responsibility, knowledge of basic statistics; and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint). They should be detailed-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently and as a team. Experience in research and using SPSS for data analysis is highly preferred. A keen interest in psycho-oncology research would be an advantage.

The appointee will conduct cancer patient recruitment in clinical settings; perform face-to-face/phone assessments with patients; assist in data analysis and compiling of progress report; and perform other duties as assigned. He/She will work closely with the multidisciplinary team of the HKU Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care on an implementation study. He/She may involve in CBT-based intervention studies for cancer patients. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Professor Wendy Lam at wwtlam@hku.hk.
