Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow/Senior Research Assistant in the Division of Health Economics, Policy and Management of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 528872), to commence as soon as possible for one year on temporary terms basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in public health, health economics, biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline. Those with a Master’s degree with at least 1 year's post-qualification experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant. They must be proficient in data analysis using statistical or computer modelling software, such as R. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and a demonstrated record of publishing academic research papers. They should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.

The appointee will participate in health economics and health policy research, such as discrete choice experiments on health insurance, modelling health outcomes and analysing healthcare utilization, and evaluating the cost-effectiveness of screening programmes.  He/She will oversee literature reviews, process and analyse data, prepare manuscript and reports, liaise with external parties, supervise junior research staff, assist in the development of new research initiatives, and perform other research-related duties as assigned.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Professor Jianchao Quan at jquan@hku.hk.
