Accounting Officer/Accounting Executive, Planning and Reporting Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (“FEO”) (Ref: 530060)

 

The Role

 

The appointee will assist in the following areas:

 

  • Financial closings;
  • Preparation of monthly management dashboards and variance analysis to support decision making;
  • Financial reporting related classification rules in a systematic manner and identified anomalies in ledger entries for subsequent investigation;
  • Collaboration with various teams in FEO to understand operational details and requirement to support reporting and analysis;
  • Building financial analytics to facilitate business performance review;
  • Optimization and automation of data management process (collect, cleanse, convert, consolidate) to improve efficiency and enhance data quality;
  • Financial data structure improvement through standardization and continuous improvement;
  • Streamlining and automating the reporting process to improve existing workflow;
  • Preparation of financial schedules, presentations and meeting materials to support discussion with leadership team;
  • Evaluation of impact of changes in accounting standards; and
  • Any other ad hoc projects.

 

Qualifications and Qualities

 

  • A recognized Accounting or Finance-related degree, with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in the FP&A/Management Reporting/Finance system implementation or Analytics; OR Higher Diploma with 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007); OR minimum Level 2 or equivalent in HKDSEE in 5 subjects including English Language with at least 6 years’ relevant work experience in accounting or finance;
  • Membership in the HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent professional bodies is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • Able to build and maintain financial models and handle large volume of data;
  • Hands-on experience in PC software and financial systems (e.g. Oracle/SAP);
  • Knowledge in BI tools (e.g. Qlikview or Qliksense) will be an advantage;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, independent, strong sense of ownership and able to meet tight deadlines under pressure;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills;
  • Willing-to-learn and self-motivated; and
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.

 

What We Offer

 

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. Candidate with less experience may be considered for the position of Accounting Executive.
