Technical Officer in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 530207) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

 

Applicants should possess (i) a recognized degree in accounting or finance-related disciplines with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience; OR (ii) a Higher Diploma with 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007); or a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in HKDSEE in 5 subjects, including English Language, with at least 6 years’ relevant work experience in accounting or finance-related area. Proficiency in MS Excel with programming knowledge and operation of MRP/ERP systems (including Oracle Financials system), and experience in auditing procedures are absolute advantages.

 

The appointee will be responsible for managing daily general accounting duties, including, but not limited to, preparing financial statements, accounting reports for budgeting, research progress reports, and account closing. In addition, the appointee will work closely on reimbursement application procedures and provide administrative support for the Department's purchasing and invoicing responsibilities. He/She will also perform any other duties as assigned.
