Accounting Officer, Faculty Partnership & Solutions Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (Ref.:530338)

 

The Role

 

The appointee will assist in the following areas:

 

  • various finance functions for Faculties and Departments;
  • daily accounting duties, including the preparation of journal entries, processing of payment vouchers and purchase orders, and monitoring budgets;
  • performing supervisory role of Accounting Executives;
  • preparation of account statements for grant-funded projects;
  • preparation of schedules and reports for budgeting and financial closings;
  • financial analysis and year-end audits; and
  • any other ad hoc duties assigned by Finance Manager/Assistant Finance Manager.

 

Qualifications and Qualities

 

  • a recognized Accounting or Finance-related degree with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience; OR Higher Diploma with 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience in accounting or finance; OR equivalent;
  • good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • proficiency in MS Word Excel, and ERP systems (knowledge of using Oracle financial system is a plus);
  • self-motivated, a good team player with the ability to work independently; and
  • experience in tertiary institutions/large organizations, and with supervisory experience would have an advantage.

 

What We Offer

 

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
