Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk II) in the Department of Civil Engineering (Ref.: 531527) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Role

The appointee will provide administrative and clerical support to the Departmental Office, mainly in the area of undergraduate student/programme administration.  The appointee will assist in coordinating the undergraduate teaching and learning activities; managing course enrolment, curriculum development and examination matters; processing student records and teaching evaluation, handling admission and enquiries and performing any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A recognized Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year relevant work experience; OR 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics; OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in tertiary institutions or in the education sector;
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Good IT proficiency, including MS Word and MS Excel;
  • Meticulous attention to details;
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
  • Capability to efficiently prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision;
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and self-motivation; and
  • Prior experience in programme administration will be an advantage.
