IT Manager in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 531540) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have a good bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computing, Electronic Commerce or a related discipline, with not less than 15 years’ full-time work experience in the field of Information Technology at a tertiary institution. They should possess solid experience in websites, web and database applications, and office automation application development, preferably with programming knowledge such as Python, SQL or Java. Proficiency in statistical software, including STATA, would have an advantage. They should also possess a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, analytical, customer service and problem-solving skills, as well as be good team players who can multi-task under minimum supervision and deliver results within tight timeframe.
The appointee will provide IT management support and technical services to the Faculty’s research centres/institutes, inclusive of the maintenance of an online computing platform for the Faculty’s undergraduate and masters programmes, as well as providing guidance and support to students on the application of the online system in their academic and research projects. They will collaborate with faculty members on enhancing students’ computing skills and integrate technology into the curriculum. They are also expected to enrich students' learning experience and outcome by engaging AI tools in various projects, and handle ad hoc projects as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
