Applications are invited for appointment as Clinical Professor of Practice in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 531586), to commence as soon as possible, on a three- to four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a specialist qualification with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, or be eligible to apply to the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine for the Certification of Specialist Registration. They should have achieved international recognition for professional expertise, in addition to a distinguished and sustained record of excellence in one or more of the following areas:
- Clinical Services
- Teaching and Learning
- Knowledge Exchange and Services
- Research (basic science, translational and/or clinical research)
Preference will be given to those with demonstrated administrative leadership and management experience in universities or healthcare settings.
The appointee will take up a key role in achieving the highest standard of quality in all aspects of its clinically driven activities. He/She will provide clinical service and patient care at the University’s affiliate teaching hospitals, foster academic collaboration within and outside the Faculty/University, and pursue new strategic directions for the further development of the Department. Travelling to Mainland China may be required occasionally.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
