Research Assistant II in the Department of Architecture (Ref.: 531599) (to commence on May 1, 2025, or thereafter for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant (at the rank of RA II) to join Prof. WU, Kaicong’s growing research group, which explores emerging digital technologies in design practices. The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science with specialization in Machine Learning, Neural Networks, and Generative AI. Additional expertise in Computational Design and Digital Fabrication is strongly preferred. Applicants from Robotics, Automation, and Design-related disciplines who demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience will be equally considered.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute actively to research projects in emerging AI technologies applied to design education, learning experience, and practices. (80%)
- Assist in developing teaching materials related to computational design, generative AI, and advanced manufacturing processes. (10%)
- Support and co-organize exhibitions, workshops, and related public platforms. (10%)
Additional Opportunities:
- Collaborate closely with Prof. Wu’s research group, including multidisciplinary collaborators, PhD students, and other researchers.
- Engage in innovative, interdisciplinary projects at the forefront of AI in design education, creative computation, and digital design technology research.
- Appointment as a Teaching Assistant (TA) may be available, which offers additional professional experience in teaching; compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
Appointment Details:
The position’s start date is May 1, 2025, negotiable upon mutual agreement.
