Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant l/ll (Several Posts) in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 531638), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

 

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Psychology, Statistics, Data science, or related disciplinary studies, preferably with at least 1-year relevant work experience or further studies in healthcare, technology, gerontology. Applications with relevant experiences in research, community projects and development of E-Learning modules will be prioritized.

 

The applicants should be self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team, and with a strong sense of responsibility, good communication skills. Adequate knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis, experience in using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, MAXQDA, NVivo) is highly preferred with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Cantonese is required) and familiarity with MS office applications.

 

The applicants will assist in research and other programme activities of community project(s) for older adults and their caregivers, especially involving big data analytics, development of gerontechnology and intervention protocols, social impact/cost effectiveness analysis, and other duties as assigned.
