Applications are invited for appointment as Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk II) in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.: 531648) to commence on May 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The appointee will be responsible for supporting the undergraduate programme team and departmental administration, with major duties including:
- Providing counter services, general programme administration and facilities maintenance;
- Assisting in organising admission-related activities and enrichment events, such as admission interviews, school visits, film screening, alumni gathering, summer school courses, talks, seminars and workshops, etc;
- Handling student enquiries and coordinating tasks with external and internal units; and
- Performing any duties as assigned by the Centre Director/Manager
Applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE including English, Chinese and Mathematics; or min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 2 years of full-time work experience. Fluency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is required. They should have good written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills, the ability to work independently and under pressure, and proficiency in PC and software applications. They should also be self-motivated, and be able to effectively interact with people from diverse cultures. Those with less experience and fresh graduates will also be considered.
The appointee may be required to work overtime as and when necessary. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and interview.
