Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I in the Centre for Applied English Studies (CAES) (Ref.: 531698) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or preferably a Ph.D. in Education, Communication, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline. They should also be proficient in English (and preferably Cantonese and Putonghua). They should have a good command of written and spoken English; have knowledge of and experience in analysing quantitative and qualitative data, with expertise in qualitative research methodology; have proactive attitude and outgoing mindset; be self-motivated and organised; and be a good team player and able to work independently. They should also be familiar with data analysis tools (such as NVivo, SurveyMonkey) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).  Prior experience in teaching university students is preferred, but not a must. Applicants with a Ph.D. may be considered for a Senior Research Assistant position.

The appointee will assist the investigators to manage, collect and process data for a project involving the support of University teachers developing communication-intensive courses. He/She will also be responsible for reviewing the literature in the field, analysing and reporting data, and performing other duties assigned by the Project leader.
