Manager, Communications and Public Relations (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 534530) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree, with about 6 to 8 years of full-time work experience in event management, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (including Putonghua) and English; outstanding organisational, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills; a high level of computer literacy; and the ability to multitask under pressure, work well both independently and in a team, as well as work with people from a broad range of backgrounds internally and externally. A can-do attitude and strong prioritisation skills are essential. Experience in managing social media platforms would be an advantage. They should also be a keen learner with a curious mindset, willing to take that extra step to explore new ideas and contribute proactively.
The appointee will support the Faculty’s Communications and Public Relations Team in planning, developing, and implementing corporate communications strategies for brand promotion. Responsibilities of the appointee include but not limited to the followings:
• planning and implementing a variety of high-standard events, including summits, ceremonies, conferences, seminars, workshops, partnership development events, and other campaigns;
• providing a full range of support on event management, including organisation, programme development, budgeting, scheduling, communication, logistics, coordination with various teams, and handling inquiries;
• sourcing and negotiating with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure necessary services and resources for events;
• overseeing on-site event operations, including setup, coordination of staff and other project members, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise;
• generating and managing both online and offline communication materials for campaigns, such as advertisements, speeches, eDMs, invitations, presentations, booklets, videos, press releases, and multimedia posts across various channels to effectively engage target audiences.
• conducting post-event evaluations and analysis to assess against goals and KPIs, and to consolidate insights, areas for improvement, and best practices;
• undertaking any other duties assigned by the Faculty Office.
