IT Technician/Senior IT Assistant in the Centre for Comparative Medicine Research (Ref.: 534707) (to commence as soon as possible, on one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Centre for Comparative Medicine Research is a rapidly expanding, AAALAC International accredited, academic research-support centre of the LKS Faculty of Medicine at HKU.  We are committed to the provision of high-quality laboratory animals, well-equipped animal holding facilities, and professional services to support the leading role of HKU in research and teaching.  Information about the Centre can be obtained at https://ccmr.hku.hk/.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide helpdesk support to users via phone calls and emails;
  • Assist with software installation and video conferencing setup;
  • Provide technical support, contribute to website development, and assist in developing the IT infrastructure to support new systems; and
  • Assist with ad hoc projects assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Higher diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines;
  • Knowledge of Javascript, PHP, PHP Framework, Python, HTML, Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, AWS, Canva;
  • Good documentation skills and attention to details; and
  • Good critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills

Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.  Fresh graduates will also be considered.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
