Applications are invited for appointment as Full-time/Fractional Senior Clinical Practitioner / Clinical Practitioner in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534722), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, and a higher qualification in general practice/family medicine.  Applicants for Senior Clinical Practitioner should hold the fellowship of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine while Clinical Practitioner should hold a fellowship of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians (or equivalent).  They should have a solid track record in clinical service in general practice/family medicine with a strong interest and commitment to medical teaching, and the ability to contribute to the development of new clinical services and/or academic programmes for the Department and the Faculty.  Proven capacity and interest in medical education/research will be an advantage.  The post requires direct patient communication and hence, proficiency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua is essential.

The appointee(s) will provide regular clinical services at the University’s clinical sites, engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and support research activities in the Department and the Faculty.  Information about the post may be obtained from the Prof. David Wong at dkkw@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
