Technical Manager (holding the functional title of Laboratory Manager) in the School of Biomedical Engineering (Ref.: 535094) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basis salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a PhD degree and preferably have relevant working experiences, OR Bachelor’s degree or above in science or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ relevant experience. They must demonstrate strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin), as well as excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving and laboratory management skills. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, responsible and a team player. Knowledge of safety procedures is an advantage, and prior experience working in diverse cultural environments is preferred.
The appointees will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Nexus Laboratory at the Pauline Chan Building and Jockey Club Building for Interdisciplinary Research. Key duties include managing laboratory facilities; handling procurement and inventory of equipment and consumables; developing and implementing standard operation protocols; providing training and technical support to users; managing documentation and preparing reports; supporting events and seminars; and performing other duties as assigned.
