Counsellor (holding the functional title of Genetic Counsellor) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536626) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in biomedical or healthcare-related discipline, with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in genetic counselling.  Holder of a postgraduate qualification or certification in genetic counselling would be preferred.  Applicants should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong leadership and management skills; and good coordination, communication and interpersonal skills.  They should also be responsible, mature, attentive to details, and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The appointee will provide genetic counselling services and arrange appropriate tests for patients in the Department, lead research projects, develop clinical protocols and pathways, participate in service planning and quality assurance activities, teach postgraduate courses, provide training to team members, and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
