Laboratory Assistant in Genomics Core of the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) (Ref.: 536828) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) is an academic research-support centre embracing multi-omics and big data biomedical research under the LKS Faculty of Medicine. The Role

  • Assist in the daily operation of the laboratory supplies warehouse, including receiving, storing and delivering goods
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and manage stock
  • Handle general administrative work including data entry and filing in the laboratory
  • Deliver goods to the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Science Park and Hong Kong Children's Hospital or other sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Qualities

  • F.5 or with some specialized (usually on-the-job) training
  • Ability to communicate with basic English and fluent Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
  • Experience of working in core facility is highly preferred
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strong sense of responsibility
  • Proactive and enjoy teamwork
  • Willing to meet new challenges
