Technical Officer in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 537256) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Life Science or a related discipline, with at least two years of relevant laboratory experience. They should have a basic knowledge of Microbiology and Biotechnology, a strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese (ability to communicate in Putonghua would be an advantage), and proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). They should also demonstrate basic technical skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a collaborative attitude. Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also essential.
The appointee will support the research laboratory by managing laboratory and animal facility operations, overseeing purchasing and maintaining the inventory system, performing routine maintenance of equipment and facilities, assisting in teaching courses, and performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
