Student Advising Officer (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Careers and Employability of the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 537352) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefit scheme at 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

We are seeking a motivated and proactive professional to oversee the planning and administration of the STEM Internship Scheme, funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). The role focuses on promoting high-quality STEM-related internship opportunities, building partnerships with employers, and connecting students with meaningful industry experiences.

The appointee will be responsible for the below duties:

  • Coordinate the administration and day-to-day implementation of the STEM Internship Scheme, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines and programme requirements.
  • Support the management of job applications, student vetting, scheme monitoring, and system administration.
  • Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, including ITC, employers, faculty members, and students, on internship-related applications, documentation, approvals, and enquiries.
  • Collect stakeholder feedback and provide advice to students on internship opportunities, application processes, and internship preparation.
  • Support budget administration, financial reporting, and the processing of employer and student reimbursements and allowances.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of internship-related initiatives and services for students.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and undertake other duties as assigned in support of the team’s priorities.

Applicants should possess:

  • University degree with at least five years of work experience, preferably in project management or career services within tertiary institutions and/or large corporations.
  • Familiarity with government-funded or university-wide programmes would be an asset.
  • Experience in employer outreach, partnership development, or stakeholder engagement is desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset towards process enhancement and service improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of the local employment market and awareness of emerging industry trends.
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in webpage design and social media marketing is an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test and interview.
