Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 537365), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a good university degree, preferably a Master’s degree, with at least 10 years of relevant administrative and team leadership experience, ideally gained in a tertiary institution or public sector organisation. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and possess strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills. They should also be mature, meticulous, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in managing a diverse portfolio of responsibilities.

The appointee will play a key leadership role in overseeing and coordinating departmental administration. Responsibilities include leading a team of executive and clerical staff and providing administrative support across a wide range of areas, including human resources, financial planning and budgeting, research administration, academic programme management, committee support, and performing any other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson. Work outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or a written test.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
