Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Social Sciences (2 posts) (Ref.: 537488), to commence in January 2027 or as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Computer Science, Computational Social Science, or a related discipline, with at least one year of teaching and/or research experience. They should have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English, and a good command of Chinese.
Knowledge of mainstream Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Muse Spark and Kimi, and working experience with Agentic AI is preferred. Preference will be given to those with teaching and/or research experience in computational social science, relevant programming and data analysis skills, and familiarity with computational tools such as machine learning, text analytics, and social network analysis.
The appointees will provide teaching support to the undergraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences. They will assist the course instructor(s) in preparing teaching materials, conducting small-group tutorial classes, marking assignments and offering feedback, supervising student work, invigilating examinations, and undertaking other duties as assigned by the course instructor.
