IT Technician in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 494264) (to commence as soon as possible until August 31, 2021 on a fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or computer science related disciplines with excellent knowledge of web-based technologies in education and experience in supporting curriculum innovation in schools. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; excellent programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML 5, JavaScript ES5/6; extensive knowledge of PHP or other backend programming; experience in using popular frontend libraries such as jQuery, Handlebars and React;  strong background in customization/development of open-source software; and experience in system administration of web server.  Priority would be given to those with experience in developing software independently who can show samples/repository of their previous works by including related links in the C.V.

The appointee will be responsible for providing technical support to students and teachers in participating schools on using the Moodle-based learning management platform (iLAP), and other e-learning tools and resources.
