Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Urban Systems Institute (Ref: 525718) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a good university degree preferably in Urban Studies/Urban Planning/Urban Science and a minimum of 3 years’ working experience in the higher education sector or a related field.  They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese).  They should also have good organisational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask.  Applicants should  possess an outgoing personality with attention to details and self-motivated to work independently.  Expertise and professional/research experience in Urban Studies/Urban Planning/Urban Science are desirable.  Strong administration and communication skills are essential for this role.  Experience in marketing/media design, finance management and/or research administration would be an advantage.

The appointee is expected to be an all-around, hands-on administrative colleague responsible for supporting the Director/Executive Deputy Director in various tasks, including HR, finance, research, administration and event management (such as public lectures or conferences), and other duties as assigned.  He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours.
