Project Manager (at the rank of Senior Research Assistant) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 504747) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science, or related disciplines, with a current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate. They should have at least 3 years’ relevant work experience in managing epidemiological or clinical studies; an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese; and good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. They should be responsible, ethical, self-motivated, detail-minded, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Research experience in infectious diseases would be an advantage.

The appointee will manage a team of research staff to conduct a community-based research study on the epidemiology and vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections including COVID-19 and influenza. He/She will coordinate, train and motivate team members to recruit participants in outreach centres; conduct regular participant follow-up activities including in-person/telephone interviews, specimen collection and health education; and perform other duties as required. He/She will also ensure good research practice in compliance with standardized operating procedures (SOPs), GCP and other regulatory requirements; liaise with ethics, regulatory and external bodies; and assist in quality assurance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
