Assistant Technical Manager/Senior Technical Officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref: 507816) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biochemical/Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Applicants should have a good command of written and spoken English and sound I.T. knowledge in using MS office and MS Team. They should also be supportive and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to serve academic staff in teaching and research. Preference will be given to those with first aid qualifications and experience in similar industries/organizations and laboratory safety. Those with less experience but with strong initiative to learn and potential to grow may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer.
The appointee will be assigned to support one of the five research areas, depending on the applicant’s technical background. The five research areas include Materials Science and Engineering; Robotics and Control; Energy Engineering; Biomedical Engineering/Biochemistry; and Environmental Engineering. He/She may also be required to work outside normal office hours in rare occasions. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
