Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) / Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in the School of Biomedical Sciences (several posts) (Ref.: 527361), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year temporary basis for PDF, or on a three-year fixed-term basis for RAP, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree preferably in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with experience in one of the following research fields - cancer bioinformatics, cancer biology and/or cancer immunology; as well as cell/organoid culture, cellular/molecular biology, flow cytometry, animal studies, and cancer-related research work. Applicants should have good communication skills, be self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task with attention to detail, be organized and be able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. The appointee will work semi-independently under the supervision of Professor Stephanie Ma on research projects relating to cancer cell plasticity with a focus on cancer stemness using hepatocellular carcinoma as a model system, that is part of a theme-based collaborative project. Those with a proven track record of research experience will be considered for appointment as Research Assistant Professor and have the opportunity to apply for their own research grants and lead a small team within the group.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The RAP appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
