Applications are invited for appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 527347), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-­year fixed­-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, and a higher professional qualification of Specialty Fellowship of the relevant Hong Kong colleges under the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent.  Proven capacity and potential in conducting research in their respective field(s) would be an advantage.  Direct communication with patients is required and the languages employed are English, Cantonese and Putonghua.  They should demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical service and teaching, and will be expected to help advance the strengths of the Department’s teaching in the broad spectrum of medical and health sciences education.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidates.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
